The project scope is to design a residence for Gerald (Jerry) Kornfeld (1921-2010) and Aline (Karlak) Kornfeld (1927-2020).
The Beresford Apartments, completed in 1929 and designed by Emery Roth, then at the pinnacle of his career as a specialist in apartment house design, is one of the largest and grandest of the apartment buildings along Central Park West. It is a 20 story building with 183 apartments.
On September 15, 1987 the building is designated an individual landmark by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission.
Gerald Kornfeld passes away on February 15, 2010 at 88 years old.
Aline Kornfeld passes away on April 16, 2020.
